Surviving Social Distancing Social distancing is one of the most important things we can do to slow the transmission of COVID-19. Below are a few ideas to keep you occupied, engaged, (and sane) while still keeping everyone healthy.

Get a Routine

Establishing routines will help you stay mentally healthy. Get up at a regular time, take a shower and get dressed. Block out time to work, exercise, do chores, eat, etc.

Get Moving

  • Get outside: walk run, hike, boke
  • Join a virtual exercise class
  • Learn to meditate
  • Try different yoga poses
  • Plant a garden
  • Clean/organize your house
  • Have a family Olympics using games & equipment you already have
  • Have a dance party

Get Creative

  • Create your own stop motion movies
  • Organize your photos/create your own photo books online
  • Invent your own board game
  • Learn an instrument
  • Join a coloring page subscription
  • Write and illustrate your own stories
  • Build your own town out of paper, add to it each day

Get Together

  • Stay connected using apps like Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, & Marco Polo
  • Host your own virtual dinner party
  • write letters/send care packages
  • Consider how you can serve others including blood donation
  • Play online games with friends
  • Have an outdoor movie night where everyone can sit far apart
